Introduction

The SFS-Module defines access rules based on checksums and/or signatures. It compares the actual value with the configured value. The actual checksum is calculated on the fly by Anoubis and represents the current state of the file. The user can create checksums to ensure that files contain what is expected. The SFS-Browser that is part of the xanoubis GUI can be used to manage checksums and signatures.

Whenever a file is accessed, the active SFS-rules are searched for a rule matching that file. An SFS-rule defines an action that depends on checksums provided by the admin or the user.

The SFS Module maintains an inventory of checksummed files for each individual user of the system.
